Jubilee Gardens Extension
Braeburn Estates, in partnership with the Southbank Centre, is bringing forward proposals to extend Jubilee Gardens by transforming the existing Hungerford Car Park into a new area of high-quality public green space.
The plans would create a seamless extension to the existing Jubilee Gardens, increasing the size of the park by around 40% and delivering new lawns, trees, planting, seating areas and accessible routes through the gardens.
The extension would create more green space in the heart of the South Bank for people to relax, spend time in and meet outdoors.
The plans also include a cultural event area that will support family-friendly outdoor activities.
We are now inviting local residents, businesses and visitors to view the proposals and share their feedback before a planning application is submitted to Lambeth Council in the near future.
The proposals include:
40% more green space
New trees, lawns and biodiverse planting beds
Extra seating and spaces to relax
Cultural event area that will support family-friendly outdoor activities
New accessible routes through the gardens, improving connections between Jubilee Gardens, Belvedere Road, Queen’s Walk and Hungerford Bridge
